As extreme weather events grow in frequency and intensity, the role of public health professionals has never been more critical.

From heat waves and wildfires to hurricanes and floods, these events pose serious health threats that can exacerbate chronic conditions, increasing injury and illness, and deepening health inequities. But are today’s public health professionals adequately trained to understand and mitigate these impacts?

This virtual event, which highlights a webinar series, will delve into specific climate change topic areas, focusing on best practices that practitioners should know to safeguard communities. Speakers will explore strategies for integrating climate and weather-related health risks into public health education, workforce development, and on-the-ground practice.
