Join acclaimed author and journalist, Stephen Fried, to hear his compelling perspective on Yellow Fever epidemics in early Philadelphia.

Fried’s talk will shed light on the origin of politicized medicine in America, showing how Revolutionary era politics, medical expertise, civics, and the establishment of public health infrastructure intersected in response to these catastrophic outbreaks.

Following the talk, there will be copies of Fried’s book (Rush: Revolution, Madness, and Benjamin Rush, the Visionary Doctor Who Became a Founding Father) for purchase and signing.
