Tattoos in Medicine: Transformative Acts of Art, Agency, and Healing

Tattooing has gone mainstream
It is used in medicine to restore appearance after disfiguring injuries or surgeries, to transform skin lesions and scars into works of art, and to repurpose & reclaim one's body as a space for powerful self-expression.
Join the Section on Medicine and the Arts for a panel discussion with physicians, an art historian, and a tattoo artist on the varied and evolving uses of tattooing.
